Helping patients to talk about the agony of opioid-induced constipation

If a patient finds living with OIC difficult, it’s probably fair to assume that they find talking about it equally awkward. But discussion, as we know, is often the first step to helping people to overcome a problem.

So addressing the issues surrounding opioid-induced constipation should be considered as much a priority as helping patients to overcome the condition itself.

Inspired by this, the Lost Words campaign has been created to highlight this communication disconnect and promote better doctor-patient dialogue.
